2ND ANNUAL JOEY FABUS SUPER HERO 5K RUN/WALK OVER DIPG | BETHEL PARK SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Share

JOEY FABUS WALK RUN

The 2nd Annual Joey Fabus Super Hero 5K Run/1-Mile Walk will take place on September 18, 2016 at Bethel Park High School.  The route includes some of the streets located behind the school.  Race details are outlined below.

Wear your favorite Super Hero shirt or costume to honor Joey and all the hero’s fighting this horrible disease!

Joey Fabus was an 8 year old boy when he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in May 2014. His cancer was DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) and the current survival rate is 0%. Most children afflicted with this disease die within 9-12 months of diagnosis. On January 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family, Joey died from DIPG. Current treatment options have not been successful. More research and funding are desperately needed.

The JFCCF began in honor of Joey Fabus to let the world know what an amazing boy he was, to raise awareness, and to raise funds to be donated to successful DIPG research facilities throughout the world in hope that a cure will be found for this awful disease.

With the race,  JFCCF hopes to raise awareness and important funding to someday help end DIPG in honor of Joey and all of the other children who have passed or are afflicted with this unspeakable disease.

Please tell all your friends about the 5K so they can either plan to run in it or volunteer to help make it a huge success.

We are also in need of as many sponsors as we could get to help offset cost. Sponsorship levels at listed at the bottom.
If you know of any business or corporations who would like to help please send us an email at fabusangels6pgh@verizon.net or contact Jonna Burke at jonna.burke52@gmail.com or 412-251-7395
